Recruitment

 The Strathmore Rural Fire Department is actively seeking local women and men  to be volunteer firefighters at our Carseland and Strathmore Halls.

 The Strathmore Rural Fire Department provides Fire Protection services and Rescue Services within the County of Wheatland in the rural area surrounding the Town of Strathmore. The department responds on average to 180 emergency calls each year.

 Training meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month in Strathmore and Wednesdays in Carseland commencing at 7:30 pm.

Basic Requirements:

 At least 18 years of age. Be in good general health

 Reside within a 5 minute response time of the Careseland or Strathmore Rural Fire Hall

 Have a reliable means of transportation.  No previous training required

Valid driver’s license free of major offenses.

 Attendance at bi-monthly meetings/practices and occasional special events

 Completion of 1 year probationary term. Completion of minimum training requirements

First Fid, CPR, Firefighter #1, Firefighter # 2, and Vehicle Extrication

How Do I Apply?

Attend the firefighter recruitment information session Monday August 31st at 7:30 PM at the Strathmore Rural Fire Hall located at the intersection of East Lake Road and East Boundary Road. (1 mile north of Wal-Mart )
